Job Title : Senior Linux & VMware Systems Engineer
Job Type : W2
Experience : 8 to 10 Years
Location : Sunnyvale, California
Responsibilities:
- Expert experience in Linux/VMWare environment with Strong background supporting Linux Servers (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu/Free BSD)
- Proven experience in the use of Automation technologies, specifically Ansible, as well as other Linux-specific scripting technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Linux Patch management including YUM, Apt-get, repo, and other Linux specific technologies
- Troubleshoots complex server hardware and OS-related issues.
- Experience with Flavours of Linux OS system administration, handling incidents, changes related to Linux OS, patching, VMWare tools related.
- Ensure the environment is secured and updated. This role includes, but is not limited to patch management, system upgrades, backups, disaster recovery/business
- Should have proven experience in automation and tools like Ansible, GitHub, etc.
- Communicates results, status, and actions effectively.
- Should be able to address performance issues and post-patching issues.
Required Skills:
- Experience with Linux OS system administration
- Experience with VMWare tools, deployment of VMs, and VM migration experience.
- Strong understanding and Implementation knowledge of security Initiatives
- Experience with configuration management and automation
- Experience with VMware/Flavors of Linux
- Strong understanding of Storage and Network concepts
- Strong understanding of the automation concept
- Knowledge of Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Well-versed with ITIL process"
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
