Job Description
Grace is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our facility services team located at our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD. This role reports to the Senior Supervisor, Facility Services and is a Monday - Friday 40/hr/week work schedule.
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will oversee, supervise and participate in the installation, maintenance and repair of all interior and exterior surfaces on the Corporate campus.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance and work orders requests assigned via CMMS.
- Communicate with office, lab and leadership associates when scheduling work.
- Schedule and oversee work being performed by contractors, which includes enforcing Grace’s safety policies, Critical Life Safety (CLS) and non CLS permit guidelines.
- Maintain and make repairs to building surfaces throughout campus
- Relocate and/or dispose of various equipment and materials on campus.
- Maintain or obtain required certifications (forklift and other).
- Maintain maintenance supplies inventory and place orders.
- Oversee the fleet vehicle maintenance program.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions with an emphasis on preventative maintenance opportunities.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent and/or Trade School.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance and/or carpentry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), Outlook and other computer-based programs
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of performing carpentry and commercial building repairs to include painting, drywall, VCT, drop ceilings installation and repairs.
- Ability to use and care for tools and equipment used in a safe manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience
- Home improvement certification
- OSHA 30 or related safety training
