Senior Manager, Card Risk - Upmarket
Senior Risk Managers at Capital One work with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support Upmarket, a core Capital One business, through the product development lifecycle from ideation to execution and marketing.
Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.
This role is hybrid meaning associates typically spend about half their time (2-3 days per week) in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Monday and Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.
Responsibilities:
Work with business teams and other key stakeholders to help develop well-designed products, processes, marketing, and supporting technologies and implement risk management practices; support our business partners on risk / return trade-off decisions
Lead risk framework discussions and drive creative solutions to improve the risk profile
Participate in risk forums and business reporting routines and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management practices
Lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes or control environment to mitigate risks
Analyze data to proactively identify risks and trends
Stay abreast of the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to the business areas that you support
Set and deliver on our well-managed agenda
Support, partner, and interact with internal business clients
Set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
At least 4 years of experience working in risk management or financial services
At least 4 years of program management experience
At least 4 years of experience in partnership management
At least 2 years of experience working in a regulated industry or supporting risk or marketing for a regulated industry
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
6+ years of program management experience leading cross functional risk programs
6+ years of financial services risk management experience
2+ years experience in Agile or design thinking
Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
Lean, Six Sigma or Business Process Management certification
PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)
