The Role
Our Retail, Consumer Products Consulting Practice group is looking for a Data Governance Consulting Senior Manager to join our journey.
We're looking for Consulting Senior Manager who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Manager, Consulting (which is Associate Director level position) this means leading a team of Consultants through a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to PeopleCare initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring. Responsibilities
- Consult directly with our clients and provide advisory services designed to help them solve their most complex business and technology challenges
* Manage and direct a small-to-medium team of Consultants through client engagement, analysis, business case development, and the development of focused and contextual solutions
* Lead communications with project stakeholders, including status reporting, priority setting, and timely issue resolution
* Contribute to the thought leadership of your practice and contribute to one or more practice initiatives or service offerings (e.g., Strategic Consulting Points (SCPs), the building of consulting assets or solutions)
* Maintain expertise in your industry or capability group: Retail, Consumer Good, Travel and Hospitality
* Encourage and facilitate the business development activities of project teams through activities such as opportunity validation, strategy approval, RFI support, storyline, proposals, & client presentations
* Engage with client contacts to generate leads and identify new opportunities for consulting services
* Recognize, capture, store, and promote the sharing of engagement collateral and IP (e.g., blogs, white papers, case-studies, articles)
* Supports the implementation of one or more practice initiatives or service offerings (e.g., Strategic Control Points (SCP), consulting assets, solutions)
- Serve as a people leader within Consulting, supporting professional development of the team
- Conduct recruitment activities, support onboarding, contribute or conduct performance reviews, lead career growth discussions with Business Analysts, Consultants, and Senior Consultants.
Qualifications
- Implement data management standards, policies, and processes enhancing the quality and completeness of the organization's data under the guidance of the Data Governance Program Manager.
- Work with the enterprise architecture team to create architecture, support design, implementation, and delivery of enterprise Data Governance solutions, ranging from various initiatives - Data Governance, Data model, Data integration/movement, Data Catalogue, Data Quality to name a few
- Collaborate with relevant teams such as InfoSec, Enterprise Architecture, Analytics Transformation, and Internal Audit and promote key data governance deliverables/assets, including data policies, data standards and data management roles and decision frameworks
- Leverage tools to catalog data; metadata, data classifications, data lineage, and data mapping to ensure this valuable information is properly stored and consumable to meet business data and compliance needs. The incumbent will be considered the IT product owner for data cataloging and workflow tool sets - current and future.
- This role will function as the primary IT Data Steward, working directly with the Data Governance Program Manager and associated sub-committees in support of established policies and procedures for data quality with initial emphasis on master and certified data sets and analytics repositories.
- Work collaboratively with the Data Governance Program Manager and team in the data management, governance, and data quality of master and certified datasets along with analytical repositories. This includes processes which support the definition of data, ensure the quality of data, and the cataloging of this information into toolset(s) which meets stated business rules and requirements.
- Ensure quality of master data in key systems, as well as, development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners through Data Governance led initiatives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and data stewards to define and implement data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
- Attend Data Governance sponsored meetings for Data Stewards and with other committees as deemed necessary
- Understand complex business processes and relationships to determine downstream impacts to data and applications
- Understand existing source system data models as well as the analytical repositories and data sets that serve as the integration target for these sources.
- Identify areas for data quality improvements in collaboration with other data subject matter experts. Provide requirements to the Enterprise Architecture team, Analytics Transformation team, and data teams for any processes that need to be added or modified in existing data quality checking routines.
- Collaborate with business partners to identify, understand, and document functional and non-functional requirements resulting in new data cataloging, definition and mapping.
- Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support data cataloging solutions leveraging existing and future tool sets.
- Document and support deployment activities.
- Report on status of the toolset(s) and products which support the described data processes on a regular and timely basis.
- Excellent client facing and team player skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $160,000 - $180,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
