A Brief Overview
The Sr Manager Marketing is responsible for overseeing marketing efforts for large scale events, tours festivals, shows and one-offs. This position will work closely with Talent buyers(s) to develop, execute, manage and sustain marketing and promotional plans as well as identify venue and community strategies to advance new and current commerce. The Sr. Manager Marketing will work with executives as highly experienced marketing specialists with broad understanding of markets, ROI and negotiating delicate and crucial media relationships.
What you will do
- Create, strategize and deploy marketing and promotional plans for large scale venues and high level shows, tours and events. Work with talent buyer(s), tour director and marketing director to plan and manage marketing budget.
- Create marketing plans and ensure the established marketing budget is maintained and not exceeded. Generate and adhere to marketing budget. Book and account for all advertising and media ensuring funds are allocated to correct partners. Prepare advertising settlements for each show.
- Oversee, plan, negotiate and serve as media buying specialist for large scale theater and arena live events. Market up to 100 shows per year. Independently identify and develop overall venue and community strategies. Also research and contribute additional evolving marketing ideas.
- Cultivate strong relationships and create marketing concepts with a variety of media outlets such as radio stations/blogs/etc. for additional marketing opportunities to increase ticket sales. Understand media politics and negotiate delicate and crucial media relationships. Negotiate & interpret proposals and effectively communicate ideas
- Work with executives as highly experienced marketing specialist with broad understanding of markets, ROI and a broad variety of projects and specialties. Attend meetings and planning and strategy sessions with AEG and venue executives. Engage with executives at live events thoughtfully and professionally.
- Oversee maintenance of promotion/ticket/print grid for each show. Plan and execute flyers and street marketing / retail coverage.
- Build new platforms to elevate company from competitors locally and within venues. Conceptualize and develop new solutions to meet ever-changing business needs.
- Navigate multiple strategies and interest and collaboratively work with agents & managers in respect to overall company priorities while maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Recruit, interview, hire and train marketing team responsible for creating email blast/ecards/banner ads and other communication material. Offer guidance/mentorship regarding all show marketing needs, content asset creation, contesting and responding to customers and clients. Schedule and approve hours worked and time off requested for marketing staff.
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) In Marketing, Business, Communications, PR Preferred
- 6-8 years Of experience in entertainment marketing
- Experience in marketing a wide variety of events and adaptability when dealing with project and process change
- Experience working in live entertainment preferred
- Proven strengths in managing all aspects of event marketing from planning through post-show analysis
- Thoughtful and effective communication skills
- Knowledgeable about online marketing initiatives, strategies, social media platforms and best practices
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Photoshop
- Knowledge of data analysis and budgeting
Pay Scale
$77,819.00 - $90,000.00
