About the Role
Equinix is on a transformational journey to meet our future needs as a growing and evolving platform company. Reporting to the Strategic Operations Director, and part of the Global Legal Operations & Strategic Services (GLOSS) organization, the Senior Manager, Knowledge Management will play an active role in shaping Equinix next-gen Legal team. We are seeking an innovative and dynamic leader of knowledge management to join our team, GLOSS, a practice group within Equinix’s Global Legal department. The Senior Manager, in collaboration with other GLOSS leaders, will drive the development and implementation of Legal’s knowledge management strategy to ensure collective knowledge content is easily accessible to support Legal teams in executing with excellence.
The successful candidate will lead and supervise members of the knowledge management team and be responsible for delivering a wide range of knowledge programs and projects to connect our people to the knowledge they need to perform. This includes providing high-level strategic leadership and oversight, ensuring efficient requirements analysis, planning, and implementation, and working with all legal Practice groups and other stakeholders. The Senior Manager, Knowledge Management will be an experienced program manager with the ability to navigate the complexities of modern legal practice, a confident problem-solver and project manager, effective communicator with legal professionals, technologists and executives, and excel in leading change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy:
- Together with the Director of Strategic Operations and other GLOSS leaders, develop and communicate the Legal department’s knowledge strategy.
- Drive strategic goals, detailed program workplans and implementation roadmaps.
- Define and track key performance indicators as measures of success.
- Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate knowledge initiatives to streamline processes and drive practice effectiveness, ensuring their successful implementation and integration into existing workflows.
- Continuous Improvement & Transformation:
- Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to leverage operations solutions or technological solutions (partnering with the Digital Legal team) to enhance Legal’s knowledge use and access, including identifying opportunities to provide Legal teams with content before they need it based on the type of work they are doing, as well as leveraging AI/GenAI within the Legal department’s Practice Areas.
- Identify enhancements to policies, processes, resources and tools, leveraging knowledge management best practices, to enhance efficiency and effectiveness for our Legal teams.
- Team Leadership: Oversee members of the knowledge management team in the delivery of a wide range of new and existing knowledge programs, projects and activities, including our Training & Development program (One Legal Academy) and intranet resources.
- Practice Area Coordination: Lead the knowledge management team in coordinating with individual Practice Area leaders and teams to develop and guide the implementation of practice-specific knowledge projects. Enhance Practice Area teams’ ability to provide excellent legal advice and mitigate risk through effective use of knowledge assets and other enabling tools, processes and systems.
- Policy and Governance: Play a key role in developing and overseeing knowledge policies and governance principles impacting knowledge resources, tools, systems and processes to enable the knowledge management strategy.
- Awareness and Communication:
- Lead the development and implementation of a communication and awareness program to raise awareness and highlight the value of available and planned knowledge resources, tools, systems and processes.
- Drive engagement and adoption of knowledge resources, tools, systems and processes and foster a knowledge-sharing culture.
- Documentation: Draft knowledge training materials, policy documents, strategy statements, presentations, and other key documentation and materials.
- Reporting: Coordinate the preparation of periodic knowledge status reports to leadership.
- Professional Development: Attend external training and conferences to stay up to date with developments relating to legal knowledge management and technology.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet Legal department goals and objectives.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- JD, LLB, LLM, MBA or similar advanced degree a strong plus.
- 6+ years of related experience leading strategic knowledge-related projects. Strong plus if in a professional services firm, law firm or corporate legal department.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic projects using change management practices to facilitate transitions related to technology, processes, and people.
- Previous experience in writing policies, procedures and documentation, preferable within a legal or regulatory environment.
- Familiarity and comfort with technology tools typically used in legal departments or law firms.
