The Senior Marketing Manager for US Sponsorships is responsible for leading the strategy, planning and execution of assets within Delta’s US sponsorship portfolio, which consists of nearly 40 sports teams, ambassadors and properties. The role requires close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams such as Corporate Sales, Charters, Loyalty, Employee Engagement, Community Engagement and others, to align sponsorship initiatives with Delta’s key business objectives.
The Senior Marketing Manager will manage relationships and execute innovative strategies and activations with teams, leagues and other partners, that align with company goals and drive brand awareness. This person will oversee the development of creative assets for sponsorship-related advertising and branded materials related to team and event sponsorships, partnering with our agency to ensure seamless execution from concept to delivery. This includes managing campaign development, overseeing content production and photo shoots, managing day-to-day agency relations and creative approvals. The manager also plays a key role in managing hospitality opportunities across sponsorship properties by ensuring efficient use of Delta’s resources. The Manager will work across Sponsorship properties to ensure budget accuracy, tracking and holistic budget management. They will also be responsible for performance tracking to measure and subsequently maximize the return on objective for each partnership.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned communicator and comfortable interacting and collaborating with senior level executives. They will be expected to stay current on sports marketing trends and best practices, and continuously evaluate potential new partnerships or opportunities for growth. They will also be proactive, creative and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, while also being able to work independently on assigned tasks. The position is based in Atlanta, with frequent travel required (approximately 25%) to support various sponsorship initiatives and maintain excellent relationships with our partners.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, sports management, advertising, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in sports, marketing, sponsorship, event or project management
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience working with external agency partners
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Proven decision-making competencies that include attention to detail and follow up
- Ability to lead complex initiatives and projects in an extremely fast-paced environment. Sometimes under tight deadlines.
- Strong budget management experience
- Ability to work and travel to relevant events, which happen weekdays, weekends, evening and holidays.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
