Job Description:
CDM Smith is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager of Business Intelligence & Reporting to lead the firm’s efforts in harnessing data and business intelligence to drive key initiatives. In this critical role, you will develop and execute strategies for data-driven solutions, empowering business units to maximize the value of data. As a senior leader, you will oversee the implementation of both firm-wide and unit-specific digital and data initiatives, while collaborating with business leaders to optimize the use of advanced reporting tools and digital capabilities.
Responsibilities required are as follows:
Strategy Leadership
• Leads the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the BI enabled organization in alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives and business goals
• Develops and executes the delivery model for self-service to empower community of power users to develop their own insights, maximizing the value of the data warehouse and other certified data assets.
• Partners with business leaders to champion and communicate the value of the capabilities to the organization and to keep driving the adoption of the BI platform and existing tools
• Works with business functional areas to analyze opportunity and to create dashboards, reporting tools and analytics that uncover insights, drive strategy and decision making
• Partners with the Data Management organization to ensure data standards are developed and enforced across applications
Capability Management
• Leads the BI & Reporting technology roadmap, and related projects to standardize and consolidate redundant tools across the firm into a single platform
• Develops and implements an effective and efficient vendor management strategy to maximize value of tools and to support staff augmentation.
Team Management
• Manages a team of BI and Reporting developers, and the related demand queue.
• Develops direction and plans for the BI and Reporting team, integrating with Business and BT vision and strategy.
• Ensures that talent development and staffing activities are effectively meeting the current and future needs of organization.
• Partners with other management in BT to establish processes for teams to work well together across BT functions
Additional Responsibilities
• Develops and maintains consultative relationships with key business stakeholders including senior executives. Proactively identifies and proposes initiatives that will improve business efficiency and drive strategy by leveraging data and BI technologies.
• Identifies conflicting needs and requirements. Facilitates discussion and best approaches given budget, schedule, and regulatory constraints.
• Manages day-to-day activity of staff. Provides feedback on performance appraisals. Manages the development and training of staff. Approves paid time off requests (PTO) and ensures human resources policies are followed.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 12 years of related experience with at least 4 of those years in a management or leadership capacity.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Power BI and Qliksense architecture, implementation, and management best practices.
• Experience with an AEC firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline preferred.
