The Senior Manager of Development Systems will provide oversight for the development department's daily operations related to fundraising correspondence, gift entry, reporting and analysis, and customer data management. Additionally, this position will provide technology expertise to support the organization's identification, cultivation, and solicitation of existing and prospective donors. This position leads the development team in establishing and maintaining best-practice use of its data system, including setting and upholding standards for customer record management and data hygiene. This position will represent the development team in Straz-wide projects involving our CRM (Tessitura), associated or related technologies, website, business intelligence and data mining, and assist with improving internal processes as well as the external customer experience.

Essential Functions:
Development Systems
- Oversee the smooth daily operation of the development department's processes pertaining to gift solicitation, entry and acknowledgement.
- Oversee campaign architecture and data framework within CRM and determine best practices for implementing changes; ensure fundraising results can be measured against efforts.
- Ensure data integrity for donor records.
- Ensure solicitation practices and status as a charitable organization remain in compliance with state or other governing bodies.
- Develop training protocols for development staff's use of our CRM to ensure they have the database skills needed to execute their job functions.
Team and Project Management
- Serve as the key resource on the development team to develop and maintain best-practice use of our CRM.
- Perform regular database troubleshooting and engage in process refinement or improvement.
- Represent development on interdepartmental projects using CRM or related digital technologies, in collaboration with marketing, ticketing, information technology and e-commerce teams.
Reporting and Research
- Oversee the development department's suite of data dashboards and seek continued improvements in reporting as dictated by the business needs of the organization.
- Collect and organize data, and track against key metrics such as performance to goal, renewal rates, new gift acquisition, first-time donors, net growth of donor base, appeal response rate and cost per dollar raised.
- Apply business intelligence, data visualization and data modeling to guide prospect identification and segmentation for gift acquisitions.
- Track industry fundraising trends and benchmark or measure our performance against them.
- Work with I/T to ensure efficient reporting processes are established and maintained in Tessitura.
- Maintain wealth screen data in Tessitura and assist in identifying best prospects for solicitations based on data points.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position supervises activities and evaluates performance of the Manager of Development Systems. The Development Systems Coordinator reports up to this position through the Manager of Development Systems.
Other Responsibilities:
- Remain current on fundraising trends; integrate new methods when appropriate.
- Maintain strong relationships with other departments relating to their use of Tessitura and assists as needed with technical aspects.
- Contribute to overall team effort in planning and development and shares in the decision-making process, implementing and promoting all decisions in a spirit of cooperation.
- Assist in departmental functions and special events and performs other duties when necessary to ensure the overall smooth operation of the department.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Proficiency with data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing a team.
- Able to work collaboratively.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years' experience in data management; preferred direct experience using nonprofit fundraising CRM's (Tessitura, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce or similar).
- 2+ years' experience in project management, with a demonstrated ability to receive and assess input from multiple stakeholders to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.
