About the Department
The Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE), is situated within the
Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago Medicine. CCHE
aims to eliminate all new HIV transmission events by 2041.
The University of Chicago's position on the South Side makes it
uniquely situated to test, treat, and prevent new HIV infections in a
highly affected population. The South Side communities and majority
Black suburbs connected to them to the South represents the largest
contiguous Black population in the United States. By using our
integrated HIV transmission elimination approaches, we are beginning to
make new infections in these communities less frequent.
Job Summary
The candidate will oversee HIV testing, outreach, linkage to care, and
care engagement projects at the Chicago Center for HIV Elimination at
the University of Chicago. This candidate will provide direct
supervision to the managers of the outreach and testing teams and will
support efforts to grow the teams. The candidate will contribute to
program planning and service implementation. The candidate will help
develop new Center initiatives around care engagement and transgender
health. Additional projects and programming will be added as funding is
awarded.
Responsibilities
- Management and supervision of client facing staff.
- Maintain and supervise all documentation relevant to HIV and STI
testing, service protocols, and quality assurance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Center policies and
protocol to support HIV testing, HIV prevention, linkage to care,
outreach to community and patient retention in care services.
- Work with data team to submit monthly and quarterly program reports
to funders and tracks scopes of service.
- Oversee and develop community partnerships.
- Collaborate with other HIV providers and the department of public
health to identify and prevent barriers to care for clients.
- Oversees the linkage and retention in care program; integrating
prevention into testing into research protocols; tracking retention
and care outcomes across a number of HIV care projects.
- Provision of services may also include linkage to primary care;
referrals to other community-based organizations (CBOs) and social
service agencies (e.g. housing, food, and primary care
organizations).
- May supervise two staff.
- Performs various professional, organizational, and operational tasks
under limited supervision. Acts as a resource on clinical research
and related aspects of clinical study for other clinical research
staff. Accountable for complex problem solving on assigned clinical
research studies and professional tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related
field.

metropolitan area.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy or a willingness to be trained in
phlebotomy.
