We are seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Engineer for GXO Logistics Supply Chain, Inc. at its facility in High Point, NC. In this role you will be responsible for developing innovative automated solutions for warehouse of the future operations with technical understanding of controllers, waving strategies and WMS integration.

What you'll do on a typical day:
- Based on results from data analytics, create a decision matrix to arrive at the optimal automated system design in terms of operational flow and return on investment, including combining multiple technologies such as Sorters, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Pick and Put to light, AGVs, smart glasses and conveyance systems.
- Continually locate, test and implement newest to market technology to better serve customers.
- Clean and analyze raw data from customers across multiple verticals (technology, consumables, healthcare, emerging markets and direct GXO) databases and develop a process to forecast, slot, and process orders with efficiencies utilizing a cost-effective automated solution.
- Determine the number of robots, chargers, pick-put and induct stations, process cycle times, robot navigation grid design, velocity, robot battery capacity, and payload design based on robot topple factor.
- Work directly with the supplier and vendor, and challenge various functions and design principles to ensure the value presented to the customer is realized from day one.
- Evaluate and prepare technical specification comparison (throughput, payload, navigation system (LiDAR, Vision), pick logic, and safety certifications) between the systems to make informed decision on the technology.
- Provide custom robotic arm solution specifications (ABB IRB 2600 and Fanuc arms) for pick and pack environments with sensor, degree of freedom, and controller configurations. Develop automated warehouse layouts using AutoCAD (Computer Aided Drawing) software.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or IT discipline
- Experience must include four (4) years of work experience in technical program or product management.
- Experience must also include the following:
- Working with SCM suite vendors, Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Operating and utilizing AGV hardware and software components to design operations with goods to person (GTP) robotic systems and collaborative robots
- Work directly with the suppliers or vendors to challenge various functions and design principles to ensure the value presented to the customer is realized
- Designing automated system solutions, including using Auto CAD for facility layout design, and using Microcontroller or PLC (ladder logic) to allow integration across multiple vendor's equipment to provide a composite solution utilizing many different vendors or automation
- Supporting machine learning application or operations research and optimization
- Experience working within an engineering community or team and reaching consensus on technical decisions
- Utilizing software development cycle, agile methodologies, and managing and delivering large cross-functional programs
- Performing in hardware product development cycles, and the ability to deliver complex software and hardware systems
- Incubating and commercializing new technology while working closely with research scientists and technical teams from idea generation through implementation
Must also have the following experience:
- Three (3) years of experience with Python, including utilizing large scale data analytics to determine automated warehouse solutions
- Three (3) years of AGV research
- Three (3) years of experience working in Grafana and Tableau platforms to extract real time robotic system operational metrices
- Three (3) years of experience presenting technical solutions to both internal and external customers with the intent to sell services to Fortune 500 Customers
- One (1) year of experience developing operational digital twins in AnyLogic and Flexsim
