Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage the use of CCH tax software to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.
- Handle multistate filings, understanding the complexities and nuances of tax obligations in different jurisdictions.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profits.
- Collaborate with the finance team to forecast tax obligations and budget accordingly.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants, providing necessary information and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company's tax strategies and processes are compliant.
- Provide tax advice and guidance to senior management, helping to inform strategic decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the finance industry.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience managing multistate filings.
- Proficiency in using CCH tax software.
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
