The Opportunity
This position works remotely from any location in the U.S. for Abbott Structural Heart
Lead trainer for sales education strategy for US commercial organization. Partner closely and maintain relationships with key faculty. Develop curricula and courses for Clinical Specialist and Territory Managers. Manage content creation, selling methodology, scheduling, successful course execution, and field readiness. Partner with Sales and Marketing in communication and execution of courses.
What You’ll Work On
- Lead all external educational efforts for new products and therapies.
- Set educational strategy based on current need and future opportunities, including expansion into new product categories and therapies, aligning these strategies to vascular priorities
- Develop curricula across all franchises to ensure field team in trained on selling skills. Done in conjunction with key internal Abbott stakeholders
- Manage team on projects, performance, professional development
- Manage all sales training programs and other internal educational content
- Communicate regularly with sales, marketing, field development, leadership development, meetings, and marketing ops teams, including frequent communication with all levels of sales leadership.
- Conduct needs assessments, identify gaps in education, and design and implement programs to address these gaps
Position Accountability / Scope:
- Responsible for all Structural Heart sales training activities in the US related to a ~$1B product portfolio. Without relevant and timely sales training and education, there can be an impact on revenue can lead to missing quota and fiscal year plan. Proper selling methodology and selling skills are essential for our field team to understand our customers needs, provide solutions, and overcome objections. Valuable and innovative sales education offerings create a strong Brand for Abbott and impacts Abbott’s ability to positively impact the market and customers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in medical related field.
- At least 10 years of commercial experience in sales training and as a territory manager
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of training methods and programs and adult learning theory;
- Knowledge of the structural heart industry, awareness of trends and changes in the market, customers and technologies;
- ability to assess and identify training needs and design and implement curricula to address those needs.
- strong written and verbal presentation skills, effective in 1:1 coaching;
- demonstrated effective leadership skills;
- great overall computer skills, very proficient in Microsoft suite of products.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
