The **Senior Manager UX Design** will be responsible for the overall design experience on Generac.com. This person will be responsible for driving transformation of our web and mobile sites, creating seamless and engaging digital experiences for our users. The ideal candidate: Has a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in both web and mobile UX design and a deep understanding of best practices and emerging trends. Deep understanding of how to present consumer B2C and B2B experiences, a portfolio of long and short consideration cycle products, understanding and demonstrating for the customer ecosystem relationships between products.
**Major Responsibilities:**
Design and Development:
+ Create intuitive and engaging user interfaces for web and mobile experiences.
+ Design new and unique elements to evolve our onsite experience.
+ Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to effectively communicate design concepts.
+ Ensure designs are consistent with brand guidelines and meet user needs.
+ Comfortable managing an agency to augment bandwidth
+ Can plan a long term design roadmap while still meeting immediate execution needs
User Research and Testing:
+ Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points.
+ Perform usability testing and analyze feedback to iterate and improve designs.
+ Stay up-to-date with user experience trends and best practices.
Collaboration and Communication:
+ Work closely with product stakeholders to define and prioritize UX requirements.
+ Act as an advisor to business unit leaders and marketers on options to present a message or product strategy
+ Strong partnership with developers to pressure test feasibility of design options
+ Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
Documentation and Maintenance:
+ Create and maintain design documentation, including user flows, personas, and design specifications.
+ Develop and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency across platforms.
Innovation and Trends:
+ Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design.
+ Identify opportunities for innovation and contribute to the continuous improvement of the user experience.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field
+ 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in web and mobile design.
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Masters Degree
+ 8+ yrs experience
+ Agency experience
+ B2B experience
+ B2B2C experience
**Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:**
+ Passion for learning and experimentation
+ Comfortable defining a new strategy and function, filling organizational whitespace
+ Results-oriented with a focus on driving growth and meeting business objectives
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
+ Excellent written & Verbal Communication skills
+ Experience managing a team of designers
+ Experience with a portfolio of products linked together in an ecosystem relationship
+ Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision)
+ Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines
+ Experience with responsive design and mobile-first design principles
+ Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
