Senior Managing Director - WOB Position Summary Witt O'Brien's is seeking a Senior Managing Director to join our organization as the leader of the Emergency Management and Disaster Recovery portfolio. This role is responsible for providing strategic direction for his/her teams, leading client engagement, and directing strategic business development activities. The ideal candidate will have led large scale programs for clients and will have experience with leading, developing, and implementing strategic objectives within a multi-stakeholder environment to achieve desired outcomes. The Senior Managing Director will be accountable for the performance of his/her business portfolio, exercising oversight for the timely / high-quality delivery of technical services. This individual will ensure that company objectives are met to include financial performance (revenue, EBITDA, DSO), client satisfaction, and employee utilization and engagement. In collaboration with other executives and leaders across all functions, this individual will ensure that company growth targets are achieved. Position Details Reports to: President, Government Solutions Sector Position Location: Remote Position Type: Regular Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Pay: Salary Compensation: Commensurate with experience Essential Job Functions Develops strategic growth plan and determines actions and implementation plan to achieve results Identifies new markets and areas for portfolio growth Provides leadership and oversight to team members, ensuring team is aligned with organizational goals and objectives and setting clear performance expectations Achieves targeted objectives and key results to include financial targets (revenue, EBITDA), utilization, profitability margins and project budgets Ensures provision of high-quality service to all clients, acting as necessary to maintain the firm’s high reputation for superior client services. Provides technical advice and serves as thought leader in industry Fosters collaborative work environment amongst team members to include cross functional teams Oversees a wide variety of programs and ensures appropriate leadership is in place to drive effective project execution. Maintains understanding of contractual obligations and scope, and raises any potential OCI situations to appropriate levels of leadership Mentors and coaches team members to support their professional growth and development. Manages and tracks complex project plans and controls, budgets, schedules, teams, and other resources and ensures effective utilization of staff Identifies areas for process improvement. Addresses performance issues in a timely and constructive manner, providing support and guidance as needed to help team members succeed. Oversees management of sub-contractors, their workforce, and project supervisors/leaders assigned to specific projects in larger organizations. Ensures all laws, rules, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are met. Prepares executive presentations and summaries as needed Minimum Job Requirements Minimum 15 years’ experience in the field of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from an accredited college or university. As an alternative, two (2) years of experience working in assigned technical discipline may be substituted for one (1) years of education (i.e., eight (8) years of relevant work experience is equal to a Bachelor’s degree). Demonstrated experience driving significant business growth Excellent leadership and strategic business skills Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional colleagues and working effectively with internal and external stakeholders Experience presenting information to an array of audiences. Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize complex information Proven ability to direct the work of staff from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets, and to effectively lead a team Excellent oral and written communication techniques, including in response to requests either internally or externally. Strong prioritization and time-management skills to balance ongoing responsibilities Preferred Job Requirements Executive or Senior Leadership role in Emergency Response services with a consulting firm and/or Federal, State, or local Agency. Experience in federal recovery assistance and preparedness programs and funding sources, including FEMA Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, CDBG-DR program, FTA-ER program, FHWA-ER program, etc. Relevant professional certifications and training in emergency management and disaster recovery protocols.
