Summary
Evaluate, verify, and recommend best in class practices and technologies to improve quality, cost, throughput, and safety of manufactured products. Serve as the manufacturing subject matter expert for product development activities.
Responsibilities:
- Product Development Support (50%): Leads as the SME in new manufacturing technology studies regarding safety, quality, cost, and productivity improvements
- Manufacturing Process Improvements (40%): Analyzes and recommends improvements to current manufacturing processes: safety, quality, cost, productivity by means of statistical analysis.
- HSE / Quality (10%): Participates in and supports HSE and Quality CPI projects (e.g., Training, Ergonomic reviews, and Root Cause Investigations).
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years manufacturing process / test development experience preferably in a mid to low volume product environment.
- Good project management and technical writing skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work cross functionally between Operations and Engineering.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and processes improvement methods (e.g., SPC, DFSS, PDCA, DMAIC, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S, etc.).
- Six Sigma Green Belt and/or CMfgE preferred.
- Experience and proficiency with engineering software (e.g., SolidWorks, Python, Altium, etc.).
- Understanding of GD&T, metrology, and inspection methods.
- Understanding of ISO9001 quality system requirements.
