About the Job
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with and test high power (>1 kW) fiber lasers
- Execute all optical, mechanical, and electrical assembly stations
- Assist with daily 3S/7S activities (5S plus safety & security)
- Handle, splice, and cleave small and large diameter fiber
- Work with fiber optical components
- Operate fiber fusion splicers, fiber re-coaters, fiber cleavers, optical spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies, photo detectors, and oscilloscopes
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Electro-Optic Technology or equivalent preferred but not required
- Three years of fiber laser build and test experience desired
- Ability to work with fiber optic and optical components
- Operational familiarity with fiber fusion splicers, fiber re-coaters, fiber cleavers, optical spectrum analyzers, laser beam analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies, photodetectors, and oscilloscopes
- Must be a U.S. citizen
