Position Description:
Remote/Hybrid
TMMG is seeking a senior level Electrical Engineer or Marine Electrical Engineering Technician to join the Design Team. Position reports to the Engineering Design Team Lead Engineer. Position leads a team of Junior Engineers of cross-engineering-disciplines and coordinates and assists other project teams for electrical engineering requirements. Work is performed under an approved ISO 9001 Quality Management Plan.
Requirements:
• Perform ship checks for transportation alterations, troubleshooting, modernization, and integration of electrical production, distribution, controls, and consumer equipment.
• Develop control schematics, including PLC integration, for shipboard systems.
• Review electrical distribution drawings, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics for completeness and conformance to the company design standards.
• Perform shipboard material readiness assessments and develop corrective action reports based upon shipboard assessments.
• Develop work items, cost estimates, drawings, and technical reports for assigned projects.
• Instruct engineers on proper shipboard cable routing, wiring techniques, controller assembly, and other electrical distribution and controls.
• Mentor Junior Engineers for engineering ability development.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education/Certification Requirements:
• BACHELOR’S Degree electrical engineering or other similar engineering program with ten (10) years post-graduate experience in marine power plants, propulsion control systems, electrical and lighting distribution system, installation, and operation.
OR
• 20 years marine power plants control systems, electrical and lighting distribution systems, installation experience without a degree.
• Familiar with the development of work items, drawings, analysis, cost estimates, and technical reports for ship repair or related projects.
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite.
• AutoCAD and/or SKM experience a plus, but not required.
