About the Role & Team
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a self-driven individual contributor who is part of a team who assists with troubleshooting mechanical ride & show systems. As part of your role, you will respond to equipment operational issues to help develop short-term and life-cycle engineering solutions. Every day is different. You could be doing engineering analysis, testing, assembly/detail/part fabrication drawings, system & functional requirements, hazards & FMEA analysis, vendor performance specifications, maintenance & inspection procedures, and acceptance test plans.
You will work with multiple customers and partners from all levels of the organization to resolve data and requirement-driven technical solutions.
This role will report to the Engineering Manager.
What You Will Do
+ Develop & implement immediate recommendations and solutions based on collected data.
+ Determine functional and detail system requirements
+ Perform engineering analysis
+ Verify design compliance with applicable codes and standards
+ Provide technical supervision for equipment fabrication, installation, and commissioning efforts.
+ Verify system performance through acceptance and performance testing.
+ Work with maintenance and operating partners to develop equipment sustainment and operating procedures.
+ Mentor other engineers and interns in developing fundamental engineering skills.
Required Qualifications & Skills
+ Proven seven (7) plus years of direct experience in mechanical engineering, detail design and commissioning of industrial automation, large conveyance, or transportation systems.
+ Demonstrated experience in leading design, installation and testing efforts on multi-disciplinary dynamic systems.
+ Proficiency in applying design standards including AWS, DIN, ASTM, SAE and ASME standards
+ Proficiency in completing engineering design drawings in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
+ Proficiency in engineering analysis using classical calculation methods or MathCad, Ansys, or equivalent.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
+ Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills to audiences at the executive, peer, and support levels.
+ Demonstrated experience successfully completing multiple, concurrent, engineering tasks and projects.
+ Demonstrated experience partnering across multiple fields and organizations while managing the expectations of diverse partners
+ Ability to work weekends, holidays and/or shift based coverage including immediate response coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Active, or ability to acquire, Professional Engineer license in Florida
+ Manufacturing experience including welding, machining and assembly
+ Experience using design standards including AWS, ASTM, SAE and ASME.
+ Demonstrated experience in engineering design involving fiberglass and other composite materials
+ Knowledge of Ride and Show Control Systems
+ Experience in working with international drafting and engineering standards.
+ Demonstrated dedication to maintaining technical proficiency through continuing technical education and training
Education
+ Bachelors of Science or equivalent experience or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering. The degree must be from an ABET-accredited institution.
