Job Responsibilities:
- Approve special design products, direct changes, and perform engineering calculations to determine stress load, safety, and durability measures.
- Review, approve, and sign ASME compliance documents and adhere to standard engineering principles as a certified Professional Engineer.
- Implement design changes to drive commonality across existing and new designs, reducing costs and unnecessary duplication of efforts.
- Interact with customers, addressing technical questions and concerns related to new or ongoing projects.
- Develop, train users, and implement calculation programs, performing ad-hoc calculations for products outside program parameters.
- Review designs, perform stress calculations, and issue guidance or approvals on necessary changes to ensure compliance with customer specifications and engineering standards.
- Affix PE stamp and signature on as-built drawings upon customer request, ensuring ASME compliance.
- Provide redesign recommendations for product and design improvement, increasing manufacturability.
- Verify model generation and calculations using DriveWorks, ensuring applicable standards are met.
- Stay updated with new industry specifications and develop systems to integrate new information into the Engineering team.
- Participate in industry groups and technical committees to shape standards and ensure safety requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering positions with increasing responsibility and scope.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FEA analysis software, DriveWorks, and LEAN principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B30-20, ASME BTH-1, CMAA design specs, and AWS D1.1 Weld specifications.
- Ability to program Excel using VB to create automated programs supporting LEAN initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, organize work, and collaborate across departments.
Salary: $93,000-130,000 (Depending on experience)
