Essential Duties for Senior Mechanical Engineer:
Project Design and Development-
- Oversee discipline-specific design tasks, including but not limited to the following:
- Calculations (Heat Loss/Gain, Ventilation, Exhaust)
- Equipment Selections
- Wet Side (Hydronics) calculations
- Duct sizing and routing
- Mechanical Code Compliance
- Building Code compliance
- Energy Code Compliance
- Drafting in Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Work on projects as directed by management.
- Assist management with design process improvement.
- Coordinate with architects, general contractors, and other stakeholders as required.
Project Administration
- Oversee processing of submittals and Requests for Information (RFI) as required.
- Communicate changes in project schedules to senior staff.
- Assign designers and engineers to specific tasks and/or projects.
Quality Control
- Regularly engage in training and development of designers and engineers.
- Attend manufacturer-provided continuing education opportunities.
- Participate in site visits as required.
Staff Development
- Regularly engage in training and development as directed by the general manager.
- Attend manufacturer-provided continuing education opportunities.
- Participate in site visits.
- Assist with training and development of junior design staff.
Requirements for Senior Mechanical Engineer:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Registered Professional Engineer required.
- 10+ Years of experience in construction and design required.
- Must be able to prioritize work and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Basic computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook are needed.
- Experience in a construction environment is preferable.
- Experience in training junior staff preferred.
- Demonstrate competence in written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to positively represent Jet Industries, Inc. and communicate with others at varying technical levels.
- Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
