Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory's Valve Engineering unit is seeking a mechanical engineer to identify and incubate innovations in valve technology. As a member of the Valve Engineering innovation team, you will hunt opportunities to improve valve performance, reduce costs, reduce manufacturing span, reduce maintenance needs, and apply valve technologies in new ways to solve problems for the fleet. You will use a combination of design, analysis, and testing to rapidly develop these new technologies. You will combine a strong technical foundation with creative inspiration to help Valve Engineering scale up its programmatic impact. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
