About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Support preconstruction MEP activities which include overseeing timely bid package submission to subcontractors, evaluating and approving final project cost submission to client, and attending client bid clarification meetings.
- Oversee preconstruction mechanical engineering design activities which include reviewing client RFPs and coordinating in-housing engineering to achieve client requirements.
- Oversee MEP design coordination with engineering firms for awarded projects to achieve client requirements.
- Assist Project Executive set and achieve budgets for awarded projects.
- Build relationships with equipment vendors and subcontractors.
- Oversee procurement of MEP scope to achieve milestones.
- Oversee direct procurement of critical long lead mechanical and electrical equipment to achieve milestones.
- Oversee submittal and shop drawing review and approval.
- Resolve critical engineering issues.
- Assist client achieve target budgets via value engineering and alternate design solutions.
- Assist with project close out documents.
- Visit project sites frequently for inspections, quality assurance, and progress monitoring.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience of at least 8 years in the industrial construction industry working within the MEP department.
- In-depth knowledge of MEP Preconstruction Management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control standards, and environmental sustainability practices relevant to the construction industry.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
