Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid) - Kinect

Our client, a prominent player in the Mining / Oil & Gas / and Heavy Manufacturing industries, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer on a contract basis to support and optimize their growing network infrastructure. This position is ideal for a high-performing network engineer with a strong background in Cisco switches, Azure cloud environments, and prior systems administration experience. As a crucial team member, the Senior Network Engineer will manage key network operations within a primarily Microsoft environment, leveraging WatchGuard, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a mining or public safety background to bring their expertise to a fast-paced, impactful role.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Network Configuration & Management:
  
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches to ensure optimal network performance, connectivity, and security.
  • Support existing WatchGuard and Fortinet solutions, providing proactive network management and troubleshooting.
• 
  Cloud Infrastructure Support:
  
  • Work within the Microsoft Azure environment to enhance and secure cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Assist in bridging on-premises and cloud resources, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal configuration.
• 
  Systems Administration Support:
  
  • Leverage past systems administration experience to provide secondary support for Dell Servers, IBM Storage Backups, and VMware systems, ensuring robust system operations.
  • Support system and network integration, working with on-premises and cloud resources.
• 
  Documentation & Compliance:
  
  • Maintain comprehensive network documentation and configurations, system updates, and security protocols for regulatory and operational compliance.
  • Implement and enforce network security best practices to protect data and facilitate efficient access management.

Current Environment:

• Primary Technologies: Microsoft environment, Cisco switches, WatchGuard, Fortinet, Dell Servers, IBM Storage Backup, VMware
• Preferred Background: Prior experience in mining, public safety, or related fields.

Must-Have Qualifications:

1. Proficiency with Cisco Switches.
2. Experience working within Microsoft Azure or similar cloud environments.
3. Hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator (prior experience required).
4. Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in mining, public safety, or similar industries.
• Familiarity with WatchGuard and Fortinet technologies.
• Experience with Dell servers, IBM storage solutions, and VMware for system support and management.
