Senior Network Engineer at TEKsystems

Description:

Designs, implements, supports and secures local/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), routing, switching and network security systems.

• Specifies, configures and monitors Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) implementations and Remote Access VPN implementations.

• Designs and supports secure network integration with Point-to-Point and Multiprotocol Label Switching networks.

• Designs and supports the installation, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of all network related equipment, including Cisco enterprise class routers and switches.

• Develops and maintains secure configuration templates for Cisco and Nokia routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Audits network configurations for operational efficiency and security best practices.

• Develops and maintains network drawings, build templates and procedures

• Participates in complex network design, performance engineering or problem resolution projects to solve complex, cross-functional issues that cross many technologies.

• Maintains a working knowledge of NERC, FERC, FISMA, Sarbanes Oxley and various state information security and privacy laws as they relate to business systems and the Bulk Electric System (BES).

• Participates in 24x7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical area with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Network Security or Information Technology, or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.

• Experience designing, implementing and managing networks utilizing Cisco routers and switches.

• Experience in Cisco and Nokia enterprise class networks.

• Experience implementing and supporting Checkpoint firewalls.

• Experience implementing and supporting Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).

• Experience implementing generic routing encapsulation (GRE) over Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) and Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN).

• Network certifications: Network+, Nokia NRS I & II, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Network Professional (CCNP), Internetwork Expert (CCIE).

• Cyber Security certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA).

• Familiarity with Multilayer switching, MPLS, Routing protocols (EIGRP, ISIS), High Availability protocols and services (HSRP, VRRP, GSLB, & Spanning Tree).

• Deploying, implementing and planning of Wireless Networks for utility applications including: Private Licensed Broadband Wireless, Wi-Fi 802.11, LTE and 4G Cellular, RF Mesh Networks.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to influence others on technology decisions and direction.

• Ability to work under minimal supervision and multi-task in a team environment

• Ability to work within a team while resolving conflict and respecting others

• Expert use of MS Office suite.

• Sound judgment; strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.

• Ability to utilize MS Visio to create and modify network drawings

This person will need to have great interpersonal communication skills because they will be working as a part of a team supporting the substation network.
