As a Senior Open-Source Developer, you will support system development for the Client’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Unit. This role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of open-source software applications, including relational databases, web servers, and middleware. Focus on development tasks to support and maintain applications deployed within containerized and virtual environments.

As a Senior Open-Source Developer, you will support system development for the Client’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Unit. This role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of open-source software applications, including relational databases, web servers, and middleware. Focus on development tasks to support and maintain applications deployed within containerized and virtual environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and configure software tools in containers (Red Hat OpenShift) or Linux environments
- Collaborate with server teams and allocate containers for application deployment
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot customized software and applications
- Apply patches, troubleshoot outages, and manage performance issues
- Develop Elixir microservices and manage data pipelines with Kafka
- Integrate object stores for data persistence and support scalable storage solutions
- Support users in operations and resolve SSO and account provisioning issues
- Document change logs and assist team members as needed
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- 2+ years in application deployment within containers, specifically Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Elixir or functional languages (Scala, Haskell, Clojure) and ReactJS
- Experience with open-source SQL databases, including PostgreSQL setup, troubleshooting, and query development
- 2+ years using Helm, Quay, GitHub, and configuration management tools
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Hive, Elasticsearch, Redis, Kibana, and Apache HTTP server
- Strong Red Hat Linux environment experience and shell scripting
- Knowledge of S3 standard storage solutions, strong communication skills, and adaptability
