Job Duties:
- Represent the infrastructure and operations perspective throughout the entire project life cycle.
- Tracks the deployment progress, evaluates the technical implementation, coordinates team activities, researches and resolves any implementation or production problems in a timely manner.
- Function in a technical analyst type role utilizing most of the following technologies; Omegamon, Xpediter, COBOL, CICS, TIBCO, JBOSS, WebSphere and DB2.
- Determine manageability, supportability, and ownership implications associated with long-term management and support of the product.
- Manage procurement and installation of infrastructure requirements.
- Ensure a smooth deployment process, installation, rollout, and migration of the product to the operations and support groups.
- Design and implement product deployment, rollout, and migration strategies from development through deployment.
- Manage movement of source code through testing and production environments.
- Identifies major operational risks and action plans and operational risks associated with all phases of development of new systems and modifications of existing systems.
- Define the support process and manage the turnover to the operations team and help desks.
- Will work with internal departs and project team members and information resources including data architecture and enterprise support team, documentation and middle management: obtain information, direction, and consensus; provide project status.
- Good understanding of mainframe and client server systems.
- Should be familiar with various technologies (mainframe, VB, XML).
- Should be able apply their technical knowledge to lead and define the operational activities to execute a project.
- Should know how systems interact and should be able to intelligently diagnose problems.
- Should understand the testing and development environments and their components.
- Ability to build partnership with other teams for configuration management.
- Understanding of migration strategies and integration infrastructures.
- Excellent understanding of full life cycle development.
- Excellent technical, analytical, problem solving, multitasking, and time management skills with consistent attention to detail.
- Advanced understanding of analytical techniques such as logical data modeling and process modeling.
- Ability to effectively learn and use new programming concepts, tools, and methodology to support the needs of the business.
- Advanced functional understanding of the direct to consumer retail business area and how it interacts with other areas of the business and detail processes.
- Advanced understanding of emerging technologies and systems development best practices.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
- Must be a decision maker and possess strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus building skills.
- Have the ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business.
- Ability to effectively share technical information and train and mentor less experienced or knowledgeable team members.
- Advanced PC Windows skills (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project or other project management tools).
- High level of teamwork skills (communication, ability to share ideas and solutions for work challenges).
