The Senior Operations Manager will lead the operational effectiveness of our payments, reconciliation, and deposit products, ensuring seamless and reliable service for our customers. This role focuses on identifying and addressing operational gaps, managing product configurations, handling client escalations, and overseeing payment and balance reconciliations.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be an integral part of our operations team, which is dedicated to maintaining exceptional service quality. You’ll work closely with product teams to drive innovation and set a strategic direction for payments and reconciliation, while also managing relationships with our network of financial institution partners and external vendors.
We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented leader with a passion for operational excellence. You will be adept at connecting how products are built with how they’re used and skilled at collaborating across teams to ensure flawless product delivery.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and Enhance Operational Strategies: Deepen understanding of current operations to identify improvement opportunities and celebrate key achievements with executive leadership.
- Oversee Technical Solutions and Workflow Efficiency: Ensure the reliability and scalability of systems and processes by managing technical solutions and coordinating closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Compliance, Legal, Engineering, etc.) to drive process optimization.
- Design and Document Operational Flows: Collaborate on designing information flows, fund flows, and workflows, and document the connectivity across systems for all deposit products and partnerships.
- Identify and Address Workflow Gaps: Proactively detect procedural gaps, particularly in payments and reconciliation processes, and address these through process enhancements, automation, and data-driven solutions.
- Understand and Support Settlement Flows: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of ACH settlement flows and cross-system requirements, applying this knowledge to both existing processes and new initiatives.
- Drive Policy and Procedure Development: Lead the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and systems to meet operational needs and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate Across Project Phases: Engage with GTM and product teams at all stages, from concept to implementation, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Stay Current on Industry Trends: Monitor industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies to inspire innovative approaches and maintain competitive advantage.
Your Profile
- 10+ years of experience in operations, product management, or technology roles; experience in high-growth tech companies or Fintech banks is a plus.
- Expertise in the payments ecosystem, specifically ACH payments and NACHA guidelines.
- Strong understanding of FinTech regulations related to deposit products, with practical experience in compliance.
- Ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams: You excel at interpreting customer needs and collaborating with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and advise on product solutions.
- Solution-oriented and analytical: Skilled in data reporting, dashboards, trend analysis, and creative problem-solving.
- Proven business judgment: You ask insightful questions and make sound decisions while collaborating with diverse internal and external partners.
- Clear and effective communicator: Able to convey complex ideas concisely, both verbally and in writing, and navigate technical and business discussions with ease.
- Strong leadership skills: Demonstrated success in developing talent, building cross-functional relationships, and influencing a variety of stakeholders, including executive audiences.
- Proactive and adaptable: A self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, often ambiguous environments and can effectively multitask.
