Senior Payroll Specialist (6+ month TEMP) - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Ledgent is partnering with a client looking to cover a LOA from now until April/May time frame (6+ months). This is a senior level payroll position (multi-state, international, high-volume processing for over 1,000+ employees).
$30-$50/hour (D.O.E.) with hybrid flexibility after training.
Job Duties:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for over 1,000+ employees across the U.S. and Canada.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Review and reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues that arise.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and provincial payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other systems.
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports, providing insights on trends and discrepancies.
- Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2s, T4s, and other required documentation.
- Conduct audits of payroll records and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support and training to HR and payroll staff on payroll procedures and software.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance payroll efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of multi-state U.S. payroll and Canadian payroll practices.
- Proficient in ADP payroll software; additional experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of payroll compliance regulations and reporting requirements.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is preferred.
