The Sr PCB Design/Layout Engineer is a technical member in the Electrical Engineering group. Working closely with the electrical engineers, Sr PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for PCB board design including layout and CAD model creation. The Sr PCB Design Engineer will also work with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to supply data and seek fabrication and assembly design requirements to deliver best in class PCB designs to manufacturing. Our products are complex electro-mechanical systems requiring excellent collaboration across project teams and with counterparts in other departments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work directly with the electrical design, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers for part placement, assemble and test requirements.
- Design double sided, multi-layered (up to 10 layers) and flexible PCB's using industry standard techniques (IPC), ensuring consideration for Design for Manufacturing.
- Creation and management of the ECAD library, creation of the PCB footprint and SCH symbols using the OrCAD/Cadence Allegro software.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design high quality, high speed, low noise analogue, Wireless/RF printed circuit boards in accordance with electrical, mechanical, and company specific requirements and processes.
- Determination of layer stack-up, perform component package selection, component placement, routing feasibility studies, and signal routing of digital, analog, RF and power conversion.
- Creation and release of documentation for fabrication of PCBs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and PCB vendors to continually improve design rules, constraints and Design for Test and Manufacture guidelines.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in PCB layout design, medical device or regulated product experience preferred.
- 8+ years of current experience using OrCAD/Cadence Allegro CIS
- Experience with digital/analog/high power PCB design including high speed buses, MCU, memories, differential signals, and controlled impedance.
- Experience with fine pitch and BGA parts
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication process and PCB material selection.
- Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, self-motivating, and the ability to plan and organize own tasks.
- Ability to participate in schematic and design reviews.
- Experience collaborating with 3rd party layout services.
- Experience working with PCB suppliers for DFM/DFA/DFT and design release.
- IPC CID Certification is desired.
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and energetic. Passion for creating high quality PCB design.
