We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable platforms that support our growing technology infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects, contribute to the evolution of platform architecture, and ensure the reliability and performance of our systems.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes-based deployments in Azure, AWS, and air-gapped/edge environments.
- Utilize GitOps and Continuous Delivery methodologies to ensure seamless deployment processes, with a preference for using Flux CD.
- Create CI/CD pipelines and CI/CD pipeline templates, preference for using Gitlab CI/CD.
- Collaborate with development teams to build, deploy, and manage API and analytical microservices in Python or Java.
- Integrate and manage various data streaming and messaging platforms, including Kafka.
- Monitor and maintain system health using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Design and manage databases, including Postgres, Clickhouse, and Redis, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
- Implement best practices and Golden Paths for security, scalability, and reliability.
- Work with infrastructure and developer teams to provide the best possible developer experience (DevEx) for developers.
- Guide developer teams in implementing platform components in their software applications and DevOps processes.
Requirements
Necessary Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering and DevSecOps, with a focus on Kubernetes deployments.
- Strong expertise in managing cloud and cloud-native services in Azure and AWS.
- Experience with air-gapped or edge environments is highly desirable, particularly in relation to Kubernetes clusters.
- Proficiency in GitOps and Continuous Delivery, preferably using Flux CD.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and CI/CD pipeline templates, preferably using Gitlab CI/CD
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and experience in developing API and analytical microservices in Python or Java.
- Familiarity with Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, Postgres, Clickhouse, and Redis.
- The ability to obtain a US government security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Experience with other Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and DevOps tools and practices, such as unit testing, end-to-end testing, SAST, SCA, DAST, CVEs, SBOM, and SCAP.
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
- Understanding of network configurations and management in cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with creating Docker Images and Helm Charts.
- Understanding on scripting languages and tools including Bash and AnsibleĀ
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote working environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with infrastructure and developer teams.
- Having empathy when guiding developer teams on implementing platform components.
