Job DescriptionThe Senior Product Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing all Mobile App releases for the US Market from planning through deployment. This role will sit within US Digital Solutions team and report to the Director. Through this role, the Senior Product Engineering Manager will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders to understand market specific requests as well as with the Global Product team to understand what functionality will be available to the market and help prioritize market requests. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology leader to help shape the transformation of McDonald’s USA digital footprint amongst millions of people every day.
This role is based at our McDonald’s Global Headquarters in Chicago, IL.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the product roadmap for our mobile app, and communicate it out to with various Stakeholders across the US Market Ex. Marketing, Operations, Technology, Legal, etc.
- Collaborate on product vision and ensure alignment with business goals and user needs.
- Work with internal partners to gather and clarify requirements, translating them into user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with vendors and legal teams to stay up to date with laws and ensure that product features are updated accordingly.
- Understand and communicate business needs to the development team and ensure partners are informed of progress and updates.
- Assist and be the subject matter expert on features and capabilities to development partners and other product teams to ensure alignment.
- Collaborate with Global Product Managers across all mobile feature capabilities to align on product delivery.
- Identify and implement process efficiencies across systems, ways of working, and resources within the US Mobile App team.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for US Mobile App questions and be able to dig deep into problems to help find a solution.
- Collaborate with operators and franchisees to identify enhancement opportunities within our app along with the restaurants.
- Lead Marketing Campaigns and Initiatives that require digital experiences.

- Software development experience, working in an agile environment, preferably with customer-facing mobile and digital products.
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical details to non-technical partners.
- A love of new technologies and the drive to find ways to implement better tools and processes to improve efficiency.
- Proven track record of working with and influencing cross functional team and collaborators.
- Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects.
- Familiarity with native software development tools and platform standard methodologies.
- Curious and a self-starter with a strong bias for action; Consistent track record of “getting things done”.
- Experience working on mobile apps and customer-facing products.
- Detail-obsessed and able to meet
- Expertise in digital project and product planning - including feature/defect prioritization, trade-off processes, roadmap creation and timeline planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant professional work experience, including people management
- 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Product Manager eliciting/defining requirements, designing systems solutions, and managing business requirements
- 1+ years of experience with agile development methodologies
- Proactive, self-motivated, and accountable team player
- Prefer experience in Quick Service Restaurant industry
