About the Role
As a Senior Product Manager (can also hire Lead PM) at Uber, you will play a crucial part in shaping the vision, strategy, and roadmap for one of our essential products - "Where To." When using the Uber app, one of the first actions a user takes is searching for a location. Your objective will be to ensure that every time a user searches for a location, they find exactly what they need with minimal clicks and interactions. This role will involve supporting location search functionality across all of Uber's product lines and in every country where Uber operates.
You will work alongside a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers, and data scientists across Uber, striving to build innovative, search-based experiences. Your robust expertise with machine learning, and platforms will be vital as you lead efforts in scaling and supporting Uber's location search platform, and crafting enriched experiences for our users worldwide!
What the Candidate Will Do:
+ Define the strategy and vision of Location Search, convert that strategy into a roadmap, and then deliver it. This includes expansion of the existing product and building new products.
+ You will expand Geosearch to new markets, which involves considering local customer needs, cultural nuances, and data availability.
+ You will work across all product lines, including Rides and Delivery
+ You'll work with seasoned experts in personalization, machine learning, and ranking across Engineering, Data Science, and Design to build the industry's best map search.
+ You will be constantly customer-obsessed, evaluating signals across critical metrics and customer anecdotes and making impactful decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Experience working on Search, Statistics, and/or Ranking systems.
+ Experience applying machine learning to develop a world-class product
+ Finger-tippiness with data: you just get the data you need with no muss/fuss and can whip it into an insightful story with no help
+ Stellar design instincts and product taste.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar (Master's preferred)
+ 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager working on Search, Statistics, and/or Ranking systems.
+ Experience applying machine learning to develop a world-class product
+ Finger-tippiness with data: you just get the data you need with no muss/fuss and can whip it into an insightful story with no help
+ Stellar design instincts and product taste.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
