About the Job
We are seeking a full-time Senior Production Planner in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing more complex supply chain management tasks relating to materials planning, purchasing, and manufacturing and providing input in the development of planning procedures.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and understanding for Material Resource Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and inventory, forecast planning, distribution, engineering change orders (ECOs) and product lifecycle transitions
- Partners with purchasing and manufacturing related to production planning
- Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Planning is responsible for facilitation, coordination and project management of New Product Introduction (NPI), Global Supply Chain (GSC), Demand Planning, Production Planning and Service/Spares Planning
- Full use and understanding of supply chain, systems, and processes used by area, with ability to troubleshoot and identify process gaps
- Proactively works toward exceeding department KPI’s with ability to suggest modifications to address gaps in KPI’s
- Ability to show data/reasoning behind decision making, draw conclusions, and present concise summary for leadership
- Proven knowledge of multiple supply chain areas of responsibility and interdependencies
- Anticipates issues and provides solutions to uphold or exceed service levels
- Ability to lead/guide team initiatives and provides training to Planner 1 & 2 with ability to provide performance feedback while mentoring
- Plans own daily workload, establishes priorities, and elevates supply chain disruptions to management/internal customers
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Demonstrates all the competencies of Planner 2
- Mentors/leads other planners and facilitates best practices
- Advanced applicable MS Office skills
- Demonstrates professional/strong/effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to maintain composure while delivering intended message under pressure
Desired Qualifications
- Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- 5+ years experience in material management, production planning, purchasing or distribution preferably in electronics manufacturing
- Previous project management or team facilitator experience
