The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA), founded in 1911, is America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in delivering legal services to those who cannot afford counsel. For 100 years, NLADA has pioneered access to justice at the national, state, and local level through our work on access to justice for criminal and civil matters. Our work has influenced the creation of groundbreaking legislation and institutions, from the Sentencing Project to the Legal Services Corporation. A leader in developing national standards for indigent defense services, NLADA also provides advocacy, training, and technical assistance to indigent defense programs nationwide.
NLADA serves three interconnected member communities – civil legal aid, public defense, and clients/community advocates. The Senior Project Manager is a key position in the organization that supports the implementation of NLADA’s technology strategic plan, staff, and all three membership types’ utilization of systems.
Job Description

This position reports directly to the Director of Learning Innovation.
COMPENSATION
$65,000 - $70,000.00 per year DOE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
In addition to general support for in-person and virtual trainings at NLADA, this position includes the following responsibilities:
Training Support
- Work directly with the Director of Learning Innovation on planning and execution of training programs.
- Work directly with members, staff, faculty to coordinate training materials and resources.
- Work with subject matter experts to curate and maintain content.
- Manage the speaker management tool, Ed Harvester, including but not limited to: importing speakers, content, reaching out to speakers for materials, headshots, bios, etc.
- Update and distribute external user content on LMS and AMS (such as posting events for registration, course materials, etc.).
Support for Virtual and In-Person Events
- Provide customer service and support for both in person and virtual events.
- Execute the technology strategy and support for virtual events to faculty and attendees, which could include Microsoft Teams, Zoom or other platforms, in addition to the LMS.
- Assist with in-person logistics for trainings and conferences.

- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, as this role requires the ability to effectively collaborate with and support a diverse range of individuals and teams. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, adaptable, and skilled in fostering positive relationships across various backgrounds and perspectives.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects effectively and efficiently, both independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Significant attention to detail.
- Direct experience creating content in AMS, LMS, and other meeting/event platforms.
- Strong project management, problem solving, customer service and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Outlook), and the enthusiasm and ability to quickly learn new systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Requires frequent verbal communication in the form of public speaking in front of groups.
- Requires frequent use of a telephone, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or other applications, speaking in a clear and understandable manner.
- Requires frequent participation in repetitive motion activities, including typing on a computer keyboard and/or other tasks.
- Frequently requires the ability to work for several hours at a time at a desk and computer monitor.
- The job requires occasional travel. May require individuals to move between classrooms frequently during on-site trainings.

Hours: NLADA’s office hours are 9:00 am through 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Location: Remote or Hybrid eligible role. Weekly in-office attendance required for local staff. Monthly travel is required for non-local staff to the NLADA office in Washington, D.C.; other travel required.
