The YMCA of Greater Erie is actively seeking a full-time Senior Program Direct- Youth & Family Programs. This position supports the YMCA's mission to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Reporting to the Executive Director-Downtown Y, this role involves developing, organizing, and implementing high-quality youth and family programs, along with staff supervision and budget management.
This position pays an hourly rate of $21.37-$25.65, contingent upon experience and will report directly to the Executive Director for the Downtown Y. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Member Experience: Create personalized customer experiences that foster loyalty to the Downtown YMCA.
- Safe Environment: Maintain safe and clean facilities and equipment.
- Program Services: Deliver exceptional programs based on member feedback and needs.
- Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and manage staff and volunteers to enhance member engagement.
- Marketing & Communication: Inform members about programs using clear and diverse communication methods.
- Social Responsibility: Promote positive community change and ensure access to programs for all.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop and manage youth and family programs to promote growth and retention.
- Monitor and manage program budgets and statistics.
- Ensure programs meet community needs and expand as necessary.
- Assist in marketing and distributing program information.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and YMCA standards.
- Recruit and onboard diverse staff and volunteers, maintaining performance evaluations.
- Create program curricula and schedules; manage equipment and supplies.
- Foster collaborative relationships with staff, parents, and community organizations.
- Participate in YMCA events and fundraising activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Staff Management
- Supervise and train youth and family program staff, maintaining personnel files.
PROFESSIONAL IMAGE AND DEVELOPMENT
- Maintain a professional image and represent the YMCA positively.
- Engage in training and conferences for professional growth.
OTHER
- Attend meetings and events as required.
- Understand and promote the YMCA's mission and goals.
- Assist with year-end financial audits.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
- 1-2 years in a supervisory or program coordinator role preferred.
- Minimum age: 21.
- Complete required training within 30 days of hire (e.g., CPR, First Aid).
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with diverse individuals.
- Proficient in office skills and problem-solving.
- Good judgment and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to perform essential functions with strength, agility, and mobility in various environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and communicate effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under stress.
FULL-TIME WORK SCHEDULE
This typical schedule for this full-time exempt position is 40 hours per week. Days and times will meet the needs and schedule of your assigned location.
