Position Title: Sr. Program Manager
This Senior Program Manager position will support the Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) workstream and is responsible for delivery of “PIDS 2.0” – Client’s “greenfield” strategic initiative to redefine how we deliver PIDS to endpoints in the future under a Platform-as-a-Service model. This will require a solid foundation in software development lifecycle (SDLC) using a hybrid Agile/Waterfall methodology. Individuals in this role work independently with some indirect supervision and have direct reports or matrixed subordinate team members. The role requires regular metrics-based as well as narrative reporting to Executive Committee and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
Required Skills & Work Experience
***Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment. Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumen’s client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.***

- Coordinate multiple project teams, vendors, and assets to ensure timely and cost-effective sequencing and execution of critical path milestones across several inter-dependent projects within assigned program and overall portfolio
- Cultivate collaborative partnership among stakeholders to enable scoping, financial and resource decisions
- Identify, document and elevate cross-organizational and vendor-driven dependencies, and work with executives and peers across the organization to develop and implement appropriate dependency management processes
- Identify and manage assessment of major changes to scope, schedule and budget through the appropriate Program and Enterprise governance approval mechanisms; provide executive-level written status documents
- Work with senior leaders to support annual planning activities
- Ensure program financial performance and forecasting information is available for executives and government regulators
- Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program execution and work across organization to establish and monitor mitigation plans
- Develop and maintain required program management artifacts and ensure that all projects have appropriate project management artifacts and processes in accordance with Client Project Management standards and applicable regulations
- Identify efficiencies and present recommended improvement opportunities at various levels of management.
Required Skills & Work Experience
- Strong project and program management skills with a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience with large program/project delivery (minimum budget of $5M)
- Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Strong customer service orientation
- Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; proven record of presenting to executive-level audiences
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project),
- Bachelor’s degree
- PMP Certification in good standing
- Must have work authorization in the United States
- PgMP Certification
- Prior experience with passenger facing technologies such as PIDS or Onboard Information Systems (OBIS)
- Transportation industry experience delivering hardware/software systems
