The Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Analyst to join the team. In this key role, the Senior Project Analyst will oversee multiple special projects within the accounting department in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, reporting directly to the Controller.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting and finance background, with an in-depth understanding of GAAP compliance. They should be proactive, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and possess strong analytical skills. In collaboration with the Accounting Manager, leading financial and ESAC audits and managing various projects while adhering to specified timelines. This position handles complex reconciliations, including cash reconciliations, while identifying and implementing process improvements and internal controls. The Senior Project Analyst should excel at managing multiple projects, prioritizing deadlines, and effectively communicating and coordinating with the Accounting & Finance team, regional teams, senior management, and third-party administrators.
Candidates must be self-motivated and capable of working effectively as a remote employee within a distributed team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in line with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Conduct bank and other complex account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies through process improvements.
- Participate in month-end close activities to ensure timely completion.
- Review financial reports and trend analyses, addressing any anomalies or discrepancies.
- Collaborate on managing financial and ESAC audits.
- Lead the development of written standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all critical processes.
- Serve as the primary backup for commission processing.
- Lead special projects and perform additional duties as needed.
- Assist in researching technical accounting guidance for routine to complex issues.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- +5 years of senior-level experience in accounting/finance
- Professional Employer Organization (PEO) experience preferred.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience in financial reporting software (Sage Intaact preferred)
- Strong technical proficiency working in complex systems.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
