The AP Curriculum and Assessment Team at College Board (50+ staff)
collaborates with colleagues across all aspects of the AP Program to
develop, manage, and deliver AP's 40+ courses in a wide variety of
subject areas. AP is a rigorous academic program built on the
commitment, passion, and hard work of students and educators from
secondary schools and higher education. AP provides willing and

About the Opportunity
As the Senior Project Manager, AP, Reading, Scoring and Coordination you
are responsible for managing and coordinating the year-round assessment
activities for the AP Reading for all 40 AP exams. You will serve as the
primary point of contact and liaison for the assessment and content
teams, reporting to the Executive Director of AP Assessment, for all AP
Reading-related activities throughout the year and for the scoring event
at the end of each assessment year. In support of this endeavor, you
will manage numerous projects throughout the annual cycle and within
end-to-end assessment development, as they relate to the scoring of the
AP constructed response questions. You will work with internal and
external stakeholders, including external vendors, to ensure the smooth
and effective flow of assessment deliverables and readiness of the AP
content teams in support of the AP Reading. In addition, you will be
responsible for planning and creating schedules, managing projects, and
tracking progress through the use of the latest business tools,
including dashboards and databases, as well as written documentation and
guides.
In this role, you will:
AP Reading End-to-End Management for Assessment (70%)
- Develop and provision the AP pre-reading planning Smartsheets in the
fall, which establish the scope for scoring assets (scoring
guidelines and samples), as well as all related AP Reading schedules
for the Assessment teams (Assessment Leads and Course Leads).
- Schedule and facilitate the pre-reading planning meetings in
collaboration with the Assessment teams, the Chief Readers for the
exams, AP Delivery, and the external vendor.
- Collaborate with the ED of Assessment, AP Curriculum & Assessment
PjMs, AP Delivery, AP Assessment Production, and the external
vendor, as needed, to facilitate the creation of additional projects
plan and schedule assets for AP Reading activities for the
Assessment teams.
- Coordinate with all Assessment and Course leads, as well as with
external stakeholders -including the Chief Readers, scoring
leadership, and external vendor--across all AP subjects to ensure
scope, assets, and schedules for the Pre-Reading and Reading are
developed and delivered on time and socialized with all relevant
internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and socialize AP Reading roles and responsibilities for
Course Leads and Assessment Leads. Provision and manage the annual
series of orientations and training for the content teams in AP
Reading activities. Assess the need for new training events for the
content teams and support the development of such.
- Schedule and manage spring scoring guidelines reviews across all
subjects to prepare assets for the AP Reading. Provision the scoring
guideline templates, including annual updates, for the AP Reading,
AP Central, and AP Classroom.
- Facilitate annual retrospectives of AP Reading activities for the AP
Curriculum & Assessment team, and document and execute action items
for the next Reading cycle.

- Schedule and manage AP Reading post administration publications
deliverables across all AP subje ts, in coordination with AP
Delivery, AP editorial and publications staff, AP web creation, and
the external vendor.
- Schedule, facilitate and support all AP test security activities for
assessment, including administration monitoring, plagiarism, and
processing of suspected security violations.
- Support and facilitate onsite AP Reading events for specific
subjects or across all subjects, as directed by needs within a given
year.
- Support additional pilot projects and initiatives for AP Assessment
and the AP Reading, where relevant.
- Strategize with the ED of Assessment and AP Delivery to provide
innovative solutions and new processes to support the success of the
planning and execution of all assessment activities for the AP
Reading.
AP Assessment Coordination & Procedure (30%)
Maintain the gold source assets for scoring, including the free response
score scales, scoring guidelines, and scoring rules, as well as managing
the annual provision of scoring assets for downstream systems and
applications for the AP Pre-Reading and Reading.
Document changes in AP free response scoring approaches, including the
adoption of dimensional, part-by-part, and point by point scoring. In
