Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in the insurance industry to join our IT Project Management Office (PMO) team. This role is critical for maintaining and enhancing PMO methodologies, supporting project teams, and ensuring project compliance throughout the lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- PMO Methodology Management: Establish and maintain PMO methodology, guiding project teams through standardized lifecycle processes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Documentation & Compliance: Create, update, and manage documentation supporting PMO methodologies. Track project status and artifacts across phases, including finances and resources, to ensure adherence to approved methods.
- Stakeholder & Team Collaboration: Act as a consultant to Project Managers (PMs) on PMO methodology and provide induction and ongoing support for Project Finance Managers (PFMs).
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct regular data analysis and produce value-added reports for PMO Leadership and stakeholders, delivering actionable insights and supporting strategic decisions.
- Tools & System Management: Oversee and monitor the SharePoint/Livelink tools for project management, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for team members.
- Financial Oversight: Work closely with Program Managers and Finance to develop finance templates, create weekly/monthly reports, and review project finances. Coordinate budget submissions and provide quality reports to ensure fiscal accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with Senior IT Management to define annual project timelines and work with stakeholders to implement improvements that add value across the portfolio.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience in the insurance or IT industry, specifically within a PMO environment.
- Strong understanding and experience with PMO methodologies, project lifecycle processes, and compliance tracking.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and creating tools that support project and program management.
- Financial acumen with a solid track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for IT projects.
- Familiarity with tools such as SharePoint and Livelink to monitor and support PMO processes.
- Exceptional collaboration skills to work effectively with Portfolio Managers, Finance, and Senior IT Management.
