Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager will work with the corporate HQ engineering team in overseeing the development, planning, and execution of on-site capital projects, guiding them through a structured stage-gate process from inception to completion. This role requires maintaining project scope, budget, and schedule throughout the project lifecycle. This person will leverage technical expertise to collaborate with and become the primary liaison to external consulting engineering firms, ensuring designs are accurate, constructible, and compliant with corporate standards and specifications. The Senior Project Manager with lead and manage all assigned projects in support for large-scale capital initiatives involving production, maintenance, growth, regulatory, and environmental considerations.

This person will be working with the HQ Engineering team on all assigned projects as engineering project manager, participating and validating designs, managing projects and insuring their on-time completion.  They will be the liaison and provide critical information and feedback to outside vendors, consulting firms and the internal HQ and local engineering teams.  The project Manager will be the bridge for all communications and gain trust and a strong working relationship on all engineering projects, to help eliminate obstacles, improve designs and monitor ongoing progress for all projects.  This person will also assist with overseeing the Junior Engineering staff to mentor, train and expand their capabilities and abilities to contribute to ongoing capital projects.

EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering - Chemical Preferred – Master’s Degree a Plus
• PMP and/or PE certifications preferred
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience developing, designing and managing capital projects over $10 million in process food, chemical, Pharmaceutical or related industries. 
• Experience in 360 project management from inception, economic justification, engineering design, project management and commissioning.
• Prior experience mentoring a young engineering team highly desired.
