What you'll do on a typical day:
- Create and execute project plans, manage milestones and risks for large complex project, coordinating multiple cross-functional resources
- Plan and lead joint planning sessions with cross function teams consisting of GXO and Customer resources
- Develop tools, templates, and dashboards to measure and report project and program level status to stakeholders
- Effectively escalate project issues to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner to drive needed decisions
- Track project budget and work with finance to ensure project spend forecast is accurate
- Lead assigned local and/or remote staff, including mentoring and training, resolving issues/problems and holding them accountable for assigned tasks
- Provide leadership for project execution; offer direction and guidance to the project team members
- Communicate project requirements to stakeholders and operational leaders to create scope of work
- Act as the primary project management contact for new business pursuits for internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as a development and educational resource for team members; assist in providing opportunities for team members to grow and develop
- Set defined expectations for performance and ensure team members achieve or exceed those expectations
- Create an enjoyable work environment that is conducive to effective creative thinking
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- At least 2 years of experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously of varying scope and size
- Experience using project management software, preferably smartsheet
- Microsoft Office software experience, solid knowledge of excel and power point
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
- 5+ years of experience managing complex projects
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Advanced degree in Project Management, Supply Chain, or related field
- PMP certification
- Experience in a transportation, supply chain, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of professional services economics, and experience with change management processes
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
