Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team of talented consultants providing professional services to Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). This individual will support senior leadership and the project team to support service delivery. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who promotes collaboration and embraces learning and innovation.

- Analyze and coordinate the schedule, timeline, procurement, staffing, and budget of a product or service on a per project basis.
- Lead and guide the work of technical staff. May serve as a point of contact for the client or customer
- As the project manager for the contracted effort, ensure project procedures and controls are followed, manage manning and staffing project efforts, and lead problem resolution efforts.
- Interfaces with system or program contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of the programs/projects.
- Analyze and coordinate the schedule, timeline, procurement, staffing, and budget of a product or service on a per project basis. Lead and guide the work of technical staff.
- May serve as a point of contact for the client or customer.
- Provide direction and support to project team; resolve issues and work with Nakupuna Leadership to ensure resource requirements are met.
- Conduct interviews with prospective employees to ensure all resource gaps are filled; coordinate with Nakupuna Shared Services to ensure onboarding/offboarding of employees, as well as resource requirements.
- Develop performance goals with Nakupuna Senior Management as well as employees; conduct performance reviews and evaluations with employees
- Helps develop new business or expands the product line with stakeholders.
- Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Keep Nakupuna Services project leadership team abreast of any issues of potential impact to achievement of contract deliverables or accomplishment of client mission.
Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate possesses expertise and experience in an executive front office. Specifically, the ideal candidate will be familiar with and have experience with the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience performing complex evaluations of existing procedures, processes, communication techniques, models, and/or systems related to management problems for a Chief of Staff for a major Legislative or Department of Defense (DoD) Echelon Command / Secretariat; past experience supporting a Navy or Marine Corps Command Element preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of SECNAV, OPNAV and OSD policy and documentation related to management, operations and life-cycle management of military acquisition programs.
- Must have experience supporting senior Navy and DoD leadership liaison operations, providing facilities management while managing all activities related to an organization remote from NAVAIR HQ, but as a tenant to another Command.
Education: BS or BA degree in Business Management, or an AS or AA degree in Business or Project Management and eight (8) years of experience in business administration.
Experience: This position requires at least 5 years’ experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory/lead experience required, including financial management and admin activities experience.
Location: Patuxent River, MD.
Clearance Requirements: This position requires an active SECRET security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
