Overview:
As a Project Manager at SoftWriters your role involves guiding a team of professionals to successfully finish projects within established deadlines, aligning with business objectives. Your responsibilities encompass allocating budgets to various project components, securing extra funding when needed, recruiting freelance experts, or assembling project teams from existing departments, and establishing or modifying project timelines to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Create long- and short-term, detailed project plans, including written project scope and objectives, estimated timelines, resource allocations, resources dependencies, and milestone targets / end goals while considering technical / business feasibility
- Coordinate multiple internal resources / 3rd parties for timely execution of project plans
- Manage and deliver multiple projects on-time, within scope and within budget simultaneously
- Build and maintain relationships with executives, project teams, and other stakeholders
- Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain aligned
- Delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
- Use appropriate techniques to adjust schedules, resources, and targets due to changes in project scope and budgets
- Understand and plan for resource availability (PTO, Holidays, etc.) and modify resource allocations to keep projects on track
- Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
- Evaluate available decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project and use sound judgement on appropriate path forward
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Over communicate project progress with executives, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that all projects are on track with planned timelines and goals
- Report and escalate to management or team leaders as needed
- Perform risk management techniques to proactively identify & mitigate project risks
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA or BS in Business or Management and equivalent experience
- Experience analyzing budgets and optimizing expenses for a project, process, or business
- Experience related to analyzing and redesigning business processes to improve efficiency and productivity
- Experience or knowledge of maintaining a formalized system that documents processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives. Includes Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Quality Systems
- Experience related to planning and managing information technology projects and processes.
- Knowledge of and experience with the processes and procedures used to manage vendor relations, including sourcing, and negotiating with outside vendors in a business environment
- Experience managing project and product scope, including identifying deliverables and goals to help mitigate changes to a project
- Experience organizing and facilitating meetings, including creating agendas, guiding discussions, and reviewing outcomes
- Experience creating documentation to communicate technical processes and information
- Scaling framework which enables the implementation of Agile and Lean practices at an enterprise level
- PMP or PMI certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in Business or Management, and equivalent experience
- Knowledge of project management according to the Project Management Body of Knowledge
- Experience with six-sigma and knowledge methodology for process improvement, which uses data and statistics to aid decision-making
- Knowledge of Jira (issue tracking and project management software by Atlassian)
