Civil, Site, and Agricultural Projects
Settje Agri-Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage large-scale agricultural, civil and site projects. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in civil engineering and construction, site development, and agricultural infrastructure, combined with proven project management expertise. This role demands excellence in managing complex projects in excess of $20 million construction value, from conceptual design through project completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures. Oversee schedule management for the project including coordination with construction site supervisors.
- Define each subcontract’s scope, schedule, deliverables, and milestones in collaboration with Project Executives and the SASE construction department.
- Conduct weekly internal project meetings with all relevant internal staff.
- Budget Management:
- Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial control and accountability.
- Oversee and approve all subcontractor and vendor invoices with SASE construction staff.
- Oversee and approve customer billing process for construction-related activity.
- Track and report on project expenditures and budget adherence monthly to internal leadership and client.
- Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners alongside the Construction Division Lead and Project Executive.
- Communicate project timeline, progress, and changes to all relevant stakeholders as required.
- Prepare and present monthly budget and completion status reports.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members.
- Conduct team development and training as necessary.
- Project Execution:
- Oversee the execution of projects from concept design through construction completion.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, to achieve project objectives.
- Allocate and optimize resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials alongside construction site supervisors and Construction Division Lead.
- Contract, Subcontractor and Vendor Management:
- Oversee contract management with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication of deliverables and timelines.
- Monitor and address any contract-related issues or disputes.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Monitor and mitigate project risks continuously, primarily focused on work performance, timeline adherence, and budget management.
- Resolve project issues promptly to minimize impact on project success.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement company-established quality assurance protocols alongside the internal construction department.
- Address and rectify any quality-related issues or non-conformities.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards applicable to heavy civil, site, and agricultural projects.
- Ensure compliance with company insurance and tax policies for construction activities.
- Project Closure:
- Oversee project closeout activities, including final deliverables, documentation, and handover processes.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a focus on heavy civil, site development, and agricultural projects, including managing projects valued in excess of $20 million.
- Education: Minimum 7 years project management experience. Three years managing projects in excess of $10 million (not cumulative).
- Skills: Advanced skills in time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft products, proficient in ProCore Project Management and other similar project and administrative tools. Familiarity with Sage 100 Contractor preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional client-facing and internal communication skills, with strong written and verbal abilities.
- Organization: Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Certifications: Professional project management or engineering certifications are encouraged.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil or mechanical engineering. An advanced degree or specialized certifications in project management or relevant disciplines is a plus.
Requirements
Location: Ability to work from company headquarters near Raymond, Nebraska with project locations varying.
Travel: Ability to travel 3-5 days per week dependent on jobsite requirements.
