Has demonstrated sound judgement based on extensive experience. Has extensive awareness of social, economic and environmental contexts of energy technology of Deployment issues. Recognized outside of NYSERDA as a known expert in the field.
Creativity in Project & Program Development - Has demonstrated ability to develop and manage major complex projects. Is the creative force behind at least one whole technical or Deployment area within a program. Has demonstrated capability to build/maintain a new multiproject program in at least one program element involving several interrelated projects to meet a technical or program goal. Has demonstrated ability to obtain co-funding or leverage private resources for projects with little or no assistance from the supervisor. Proposes new program directions and technical strategies. Works closely with Program Manager in developing the Program and in developing junior staff.
Organization Skills & Productivity - Has consistently demonstrated the ability to put required level of program in place. Is Authority resource capable of leading difficult technical and project management work groups and assignments. Prioritizes, manages and self-initiates multiple assignments while consistently taking charge of work groups

Primary Responsibilities, and Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
What skills are needed to be successful in this role? - 5+ years experience managing large-scale, commercial office contstruction and/or signficant retrofit projects. Adept at working across client, landlord, state and city buidling regulatory bodies, and with client's architect, engineer, and furniture and other vendors to align office build-out plans and keep work on track. Proactive issue identification and resolution skills. Ability to understand client needs and address all dimensions of a successful office build-out and consolidation project Strengths in both the construction aspects as well as interaction with people, including staff communications, seating assignments, move preparation and logisitics
Are there any specialized skills that must be present for the position to be successful? - Program implementation experience, especially for programs that require installation/construction of clean energy technology OR for programs that provide technical assistance for clean energy projects Some knowledge of energy consuming systems commonly found in multifamily buildings, including but not limited to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning technologies, lighting and building envelope Some knowledge of energy conservation measures in deep retrofit energy efficiency projects for existing multifamily buildings (e.g. Passive House, heat pumps, etc.) a plus
Are there any skills or tasks that the resource needs at start of engagement? - Appropriate candidate will have worked with multiple large-scale project management systems and be adept in either Asana or MS Project.
Certifications and qualifications, including education/degree - Bachelor's degree or equivilent experience, particularly in engineering, policy, public or business administration, architecture, real estate, urban planning, or related field Preferred: certification in Project Management (CAPM or PMP)
IT systems that will be used - Microsoft office suite, Asana and/or MicrosoftProject.
Tasks - Serve as overall NYC office build-out and consolidation project manager, coordinating closely with the Sr. Facilities Manager and onsite NYS Facilities staff to ensure work plans are thorough, well-integrated, and that progress remains on track to plan. Understand and integrate current high-level end-to-end office update project plan with more detailed plans to be developed with architect, building engineer, construction manager, and others. Plan and facilitate weekly cross-project-team meetings including appropriate record-keeping thereof. Develop, maintain, and manage issue tracking log to prioritize issues and faciliate timely resolution. Coordinate among all vendors to ensure alignment in approach and timing, as well as with interal IT staff for any technology and A/V related buildout needs. Review, understand, and inculcuate into project decision-making process relevant EO#22 requirements to ensure selections support compliance. Review, understand, and inculcuate into project decision-making process all other user requirements (as already articulated and documented) to ensure selections best meet requirements. Develop detailed project budget in consultation with Facilities, IT, and CFO, and work with vendors to manage to this budget; recommending tradeoffs if needed for Sr. Facilities Manager consideration to best balance scope and budget. Coordinate with Facilities and Exec Admin to develop meaningful, timely updates to keep NYSERDA staff apprised and prepared for next steps.
