We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our dynamic and fast-paced team as a Permanent Senior Property Accountant. This role is specifically designed for individuals who have a keen interest in commercial properties and sales industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting aspects of our commercial real estate portfolio, utilizing industry-specific software such as Yardi, and managing the financial aspects of our shopping centers. This role will be instrumental in managing our financial growth, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, and making strategic recommendations based on financial research and analysis.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Senior Property Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties.
2. Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
3. Preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements and making any necessary financial adjustments.
4. Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of accounts receivable and payable ledgers.
5. Managing the budgeting process for assigned properties and performing variance analysis.
6. Collaborating with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
7. Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
8. Utilizing Yardi or equivalent property management software for financial reporting and analysis.
9. Overseeing the financial management of shopping centers, including rent collection, lease administration, and budgeting.
10. Making strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and projections.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Permanent Senior Property Accountant role, you must possess the following:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent designation is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.
3. Proficiency in Yardi or equivalent property management software.
4. Experience in managing the financial aspects of shopping centers.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
8. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
10. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
