Job Description:
Our client owns and operates open – air shopping centers located in the country’s top markets.
This position will be responsible for the business’s books and various properties within the Firm’s
portfolio. It also requires a motivated individual with leadership skills, general business sense, excellent
educational background and experience with a primary emphasis in real estate property management and
accounting. Position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Minimum of 5 years in Real Estate Accounting experience including commercial real estate
industry, specifically: property management, budgeting, CAM reconciliations, and financial
reporting for retail and commercial projects.
Abilities and Skills:
• Full general ledger accounting
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
• Experience with MRI or Yardi
• Candidate must be coachable, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, display strong technical aptitude,
detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experienced reading and abstracting legal agreements and tracking accounting compliance with
requirements
Job Duties
• Perform full cycle accounting including accounts payable, journal entries, monthly accruals, and
reconciliations.
• Review monthly Rent Roll for accuracy.
• Review and post daily cash receipts/tenant rents and monitor A/R balances.
• Review Accounts Payable transactions before check run
• Maintain property management sub-ledger including both lease and billing information.
• Maintain percentage rent calculation file.
• Calculate monthly property management fees, process payments.
• Prepare month-end reporting packages, review and analyze variances; distribute to parties as
required.
• Prepare complex annual NNN (triple net lease) reconciliations and related billings for Office and
Retail tenants.
• Prepare annual budget and mid-year reforecast.
• Respond to audit inquiries from owners and external business partners.
• Respond to tenant questions regarding monthly charges, outstanding amounts due, annual CAM
reconciliations.
