We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our real estate portfolio. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The Senior Property Accountant will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and will play a key role in our year-end close process. Responsibilities:
As a Senior Property Accountant, you will:
1. Oversee the accounting operations for a portfolio of properties, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
2. Spearhead the year-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports.
3. Manage the general ledger (GL), including the preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation.
4. Collaborate with the finance team to enhance and automate accounting procedures and processes.
5. Conduct regular financial analysis, preparing detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
7. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with property managers and other stakeholders.
8. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Property Accountant position will have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
3. Proven experience with year-end close procedures and general ledger (GL) management.
4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
5. Working knowledge of financial software and database systems.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and accounting software.
