As a member of our Property Field Claims Team, you will play a vital role in proving an outstanding experience for our members by using your investigative, negotiation and communication skills to help members through the claim process and recover from the unexpected.
This role requires a self-starter, customer focused person that possesses excellent time-management skills and enjoys working independently. This position comes with a laptop and company vehicle.

Primary Responsibilities:
Investigate, evaluate and determine coverage onsite to resolve moderate to severe complexity claims; including preparing complete estimates of repair for covered damages.
Handle moderate to severe complexity claims assigned with little supervision.
Work with and may coordinate with several vendor services such as: contractors, emergency repair, plumbers, environmental, housing, cleaning services, engineers and various replacement services.
Communicate and interact with a variety of individuals including insureds, attorneys, public adjusters and forensic experts.
Explain benefits, coverages, and claims process either verbally or in writing.
Apply knowledge of state and federal laws, statutes and insurance regulations through the claim handling process.
Maintain accurate and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process.
Proficient knowledge of Xactimate estimating platform to prepare claims estimates.
Make recommendations to management for settlement amounts outside of authority limits.
Identify suspicious losses and recommend referral to SIU where appropriate.
Serve as a resource for less experienced staff, providing informal coaching as appropriate.
May be called upon for catastrophe duty.
Qualifications:
Our stellar employees successfully complete all required training in order to provide outstanding customer experience. This includes successfully completing all applicable licensing exam(s) and background checks required of various states.
This role might be for you if you have:
High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma
At least 3 years property claims adjusting experience of moderate to severe complexity that includes writing estimates involving dwelling and other structural damages
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and empathetically on every interaction
Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating platform
Advanced knowledge estimating losses of moderate complexity
Proficient knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law
Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication and conflict resolution skills
Developing knowledge of residential construction
Proficiency with smartphones and various software applications
Motivated and accountable to your team, your work and your schedule
Physical Requirements:
May require the ability to crouch and stoop to inspect confined spaces, including attics and crawl spaces
Need to meet all safe driving requirements including verification of driving record and possession of valid driver’s license
May require the ability to lift 50 pounds or more; including lifting a ladder in and out of the trunk of a car
May require the ability to climb ladders and traverse roofs, including the ability to inspect roofs and attics.
The starting pay range for this position is:
$36.70 - $48.93Additionally, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
